The Robert Toombs Christian Academy tennis teams faced off with Bulloch Academy on Tuesday of last week with both the boys and girls falling to the AAA power.

Girls

The Bullcoh girls took the win, 5-0 over RTCA.. Singles matches were played by Katie McDuffie, Carleigh De-Fee, and Ellie Graham. In Doubles Caroline Thompson and Mary-Claire Wolfe fell in their match as did Ansley Akins and Nicole Acosta.

Boys

The boys lost their match 2-1 to Bulloch. Justin Johnson and Steven McDonald played in singles, and in doubles the team of Drew Vaughn and Justin Walker made their first start. 'This was a great opportunity for our guys and girls to get back on the court for the first time competitively in two seasons due to the Covid shutdown of the 2020 season. Bulloch is a AAA power that will set us up in preparing for our Region run in a few weeks.

“Ellie had a great day taking our Pro 8 match to a 10-8 set. Today was the first time any of our Doubles teams have played tennis competitively and it showed against an experienced team, but there were high points we can build on. It was great to finally get back on the courts to compete, and we are ready to go back to work to prepare for Pinewood and fix some of the issues we had today,' said Coach Jacob Lord, Head Tennis Coach.
