FLASHLIGHT FRIDAYS: WHERE BOOKS SHINE BRIGHT — Mr. Copeland’s 2nd grade class at Wheeler County Elementary School is building reading stamina through Flashlight Fridays. Each week, students bring a book from home or select one from the classroom collection. They settle in with a stuffed animal from home or read to the classroom pet, Tilly. With the lights dimmed and flashlights in hand, the room comes alive as students focus, practice, and enjoy their time with a good book. BREAKING GROUND – The Southeastern Early College and Career Academy (SECCA) officially broke ground on their new $1.3 million expansion during a formal ceremony on Monday, May 11.
