The Lady Barons soccer team from Brewton-Parker Christian University faced off with William Carey University Lady Crusaders and the Rams of the University of Mobile. BPCU played hard but could not come up with a win. vs. William Carey.
In a challenging conference soccer game held on October 2, 2025, the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons faced off against William Carey University (Miss) at their home ground in Mount Vernon. The Barons' women's soccer team struggled to gain an upper hand, ending the first half with a disadvantage, as William Carey led 2-0 despite their best efforts.
The Barons started the game with a stout defense, thanks to some incredible saves from Angel Camacho. The Barons managed to hold the Crusaders to two goals and were in the game going into the half. For Brewton-Parker, Mikayla Johnson had the team's only goal, but was unable to pivot the game's outcome, as an own goal by the Barons further compounded the challenges faced on the field. The final whistle marked a decisive 8-1 victory for William Carey.
Head Coach Phillip Borde shared his thoughts on the team's performance. 'Thank God for the opportunity. I think we defended really well for the majority of the first half and limited their chances. We made some errors, which led to the two goals we conceded. We had the two best chances of the first half, which demonstrates the team's intent and mindset. Our coaching staff has appreciated the team's mindset. These ladies are relentless. We thank God in the wins and the lessons.' vs. Mobile
In a challenging conference soccer showdown at Mount Vernon, the Brewton-Parker women's soccer team was overcome by the University of Mobile Rams with a final score of 5-0 on October 4, 2025.
The match started unfavorably for the Barons as Mobile swiftly took the lead. Natalie Burt scored the game's first goal, gaining momentum. The Rams scored again to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. Entering the second half, the Lady Barons struggled to overturn the deficit. The Barons were unable to stop the Rams' offense as they continued to score and win the game 5-0.
Head Coach Philip Borde shared his thoughts on the team's performance. 'I give God thanks for the opportunity today. Mobile was the better team in the afternoon and deserved the three points. Unfortunately, we were our own demise today, thanks to the chances we gave them. We will need to regroup quickly, as we have two important matches next week, God willing. We will work this week to get some results,' The Barons hold a record of 3-7 and 1-4 in conference and are gearing up to face Dalton State College in Dalton, Ga., on October 10, 2025, aiming to rebound from this tough defeat and improve their record.
