Wheeler Gets 1 Win

It was a tough week for the Bulldogs basketball team of Wheeler County High School. They dropped a pair of games to Treutlen and split with the Eagles of Montgomery County, with the boys picking up the only win of the week.

Girls vs. Treutlen

The Lady Vikings ran away with the win over Wheeler. Treutlen led 13-10 at the end of the first quarter but pulled away in the second on the way to a 3614 halftime lead.

The Vikings continued to increase their lead in the second half. They led 50-24 at the end of the third and took the win, 80-30.

Boys vs. Wheeler

In the boys game the Vikings had a similar experience as they took the win over the Bulldogs. Treutlen won the game 80-43.

Girls vs. MCHS

The Eagles of Montgomery were too much for the Lady Bulldogs. MCHS pulled away early and went on to win the game 60-10.

Boys vs. MCHS

It was a close game throughout. The two teams were tied at 10-10 at the end of the first quarter. In the second Wheeler picked up a slim lead, and was on top 22-20 at the end of the first half of action.

In the third quarter the Eagles tied the game at 30-30, but in the fourth Wheeler outscored MCHS 16-13 as they took the win, 4643.

This week Wheeler was at Wilcox County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday at Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m. and then will host Telfair County on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
