Salter-Shook Firm Celebrates 55 Years

Salter Shook Conner Law Firm recently celebrated a major milestone — 55 years in business, representing clients throughout Georgia. The anniversary celebration was held at Ohoopee River Brewing Company in downtown Vidalia, where friends, family, and the community gathered to honor the firm’s rich history.
The law firm was originally founded in 1971 by the late W.L. Salter and his wife, Betty Salter. Over the decades, the firm has built a reputation for standing up for everyday people. According to Mitch Shook, Salter Shook Conner remains the oldest existing law firm between Macon and Savannah dedicated solely to representing individuals, not insurance companies.
Today, you can find the legacy continued by Susan Salter Shook, her husband, Mitch Shook, and, more recently, Brittany Conner. The evening celebration reflected both the firm’s deep local roots and its forwardlooking future, as guests enjoyed fellowship, food, and a specialty anniversary lager crafted for the occasion by Ohoopee River Brewing Company. As the firm looks ahead, Brittany Conner says their mission remains unchanged: serving their community with integrity and relentless dedication to their clients.
