Good Week For MCHS Soccer

The Montgomery County High School Eagles soccer teams hosted a pair of games last week, taking on the Dooly County Bobcats on Tuesday before welcoming the Hawkinsville Red Devils on Thursday. The Lady Eagles had an outstanding week, winning both of their matchups, while the boys' team split their games with a hardfought victory over Hawkinsville.

Girls vs. Dooly

In Tuesday's action against Dooly County, the Lady Eagles jumped out in front early, netting three goals in the first half of the game. The defense held strong through the second half, shutting out the Bobcats completely to seal a 3-0 win.

Boys vs. Dooly

On the boys' side, MCHS faced a tough challenge against a strong Dooly squad. The Bobcats put four goals on the board before halftime and added three more in the second half, handing the Eagles a 7-0 loss. vs. Hawkinsville

Both teams found success on Thursday against the Red Devils. The Lady Eagles continued their winning streak, rolling to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Hawkinsville. In the boys' game, the Eagles struck first, scoring a goal in the opening half to take a 1-0 lead into the break. Hawkinsville managed to pick up a goal in the second half, but MCHS answered with another of their own to take the win, 2-1. Anthony Bently and Issak Sistrunk provided the offensive firepower, scoring one goal each for the Eagles. With the week's results, the Lady Eagles improve to 5-3 on the year and 3-1 in Region play. The boys now sit at 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the Region. The teams traveled to face Wheeler County this past Tuesday after presstime, and they will be back in action this Friday on the road against Treutlen at 5:00 p.m.
