Wheeler County Library Hosts Afterschool Activities

The Wheeler County Public Library has recently announced the facility’s August schedule, which features several afterschool activities for local patrons.

Throughout August, the library will have a special America 250 exhibit, featuring a handcrafted scale replica of a 1908 Wheeler County home. This exhibit will be on display throughout the month for patrons of all ages to enjoy.

On Monday, August 10, the library will host an after school parent meeting at 5:30 p.m., during which parents may come together to share concerns or learn more about things going on in the community.

Patrons can learn about agriculture and reading during the Plant a Seed and Watch It Grow Storytime and Gardening at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11.

Children can show off their creativity and talent during Afterschool Art at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18.

On Thursday, August 20, the library will host Afterschool Storytime and Games at 4 p.m.

Patrons can practice their green thumb skills and hear a story during Grow Your Own World Gardening and Storytime at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25.

Children and youth can enjoy hearing a story and playing several games at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 27.

All programs are free and open to the public. The Wheeler County Public Library is located at 61 Main Street in Alamo, and is open from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Mondays; 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; and from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Fridays. The facility is closed on weekends.
