The Lyons Planning and Zoning Board will listen to the public’s thoughts and concerns on a request for a variance to place an industrialized structure for multi-family residential housing.

The variance request was submitted by developer Paul W. Tippett Jr., who shared that he intended to create affordable housing within the community on parcel L18-072.

After the hearing, the Board will make a recommendation on whether to grant the variance. Then, the Lyons City Council will hold a public hearing to gain insight on the public’s thoughts on the change before making a final decision during the Council meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4.

The Commission’s public hearing will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, in the Council Chambers of Lyons City Hall, located at 161 NE Broad Street. For more information, call (912) 526-3626.
