GBI Seeking Info From Yurezz Victims

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is asking for information from individuals who were defrauded by or did not receive goods or services they purchased from Yurezz Home Center in 2025 or 2026, as the agency works with several local and federal agencies to probe the multi-state fraud case. Since the end of June, numerous customers have sought answers and guidance, as Yurezz Home Center, which has a location at 1725 Mt. Vernon Road in Vidalia, quietly ceased operations at all of their locations across five states – Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, and Mississippi – leaving several individuals and families without the homes for which they had previously paid and signed purchase contracts. Some customers even stated that though they had received their homes, the structures were unlivable, as contractors refused to complete work previously discussed to finish the houses because of not being paid. These customers all shared similar stories of repeatedly reaching out to the dealership, but no calls, emails, or other communications being answered.
Law enforcement officials from across the Southeast began to look into the case, and Yurezz Home Center Owner Richard Altman, 42, of Baxley, was ultimately arrested in his hometown on Wednesday, July 8, and booked into the Appling County Jail. He is charged with illegal transmission of monetary funds for offenses that allegedly originated in Livingston Parrish, Louisiana.
On Thursday, July 16, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at the Yurezz Home Center location in Baxley, as the agency works alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Savannah Resident Agency and other law enforcement groups to prove the case.
Due to the complexity of this fraud investigation, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is working to centralize the flow of information from potential victims to the agency. Anyone who believes they were defrauded or did not receive goods or services they purchased from Yurezz Home Center in 2025 or 2026, should submit their information (name, contact number, and a brief description of their complaint/ business) through the See Something, Say Something mobile app; calling 1-800597-TIPS (8477) and selecting Option 2; or online on the Georgia Bureau of Investigation website.
This investigation is active and ongoing. Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents stated that they are working to handle the case, but because of the anticipated large number of victims, believe that the investigation will take time. The agents emphasized their appreciation of the public’s patience in the matter.
