LEADING THE COMMISSION – Having previously served on the Toombs County Commissioners as the District 4 representative, Tommy Rollins is now moving into a new position, as he qualified unopposed and was elected to serve as the Toombs County Commission Chairman. Rollins was sworn into the position at the beginning of the Commission’s meeting on Thursday, June 25, by Toombs County Probate Judge Tina Lindsey. INFORMING THE COMMUNITY – State Representatives Shaw Blackmon, Jaclyn Ford, Leo Chancey, and Leesa Hagan spoke to the community about rural development during an event on Thursday, June 18.
REMOVING A HAZARD – Because of the deterioration and damage of the old Montgomery County Middle School building, which is located behind the Montgomery County Board of Education, the structure will be demolished in the coming month.
OVER TWO DECADES OF SERVICE – Toombs County Commissioners recently thanked Motor Grader Operator Randy Rogers for dedicating over two decades of service to ensuring the County’s dirt roads were smooth.
