Three Toombs County Senior 4-H Club Members recently earned the highest recognitions available to Georgia 4-H’ers, as they were presented the Georgia 4-H Key Award and named Master 4-H’ers. The Georgia 4-H Key Award recognizes 4-H members who have demonstrated consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills, and actively participated in the functions of their 4-H club and community. It encourages the development of outstanding citizens through participation in a broad range of 4-H activities.

To earn this award, 4-H’ers must submit a comprehensive application documenting their participation, leadership, citizenship, and achievement experiences throughout their 4-H career beginning in 7th grade. Meanwhile, obtaining Master 4-H’er status is reserved for those who have shown exceptional dedication and involvement over many years.

Recent Toombs County High School Graduate Auston Thompson, Vidalia High School Graduate Gregory Huston, and Vidalia High School Graduate Kingston Ryals were awarded these honors last week, as the years of work that they have put into the program was recognized and celebrated.

“These young men have invested countless hours serving others, developing leadership skills, and representing Toombs County 4-H at the local, district, state, and national levels. Their hard work and commitment have truly paid off!” Toombs County 4-H Agent Riley Wimberly emphasized. “We are incredibly proud of Auston, Gregory, and Kingston and all they have accomplished.”
