This Week at the Treutlen County Library

Ania La Candela was the Summer Reading Program guest at the Treutlen County Library last week as she presented flamenco dance stories. The program blended storytelling along with dance, and each dance was a “story unearthed.”
Boys as well as girls were highly entertained with this energetic performance and also got the opportunity to learn how to flamenco dance! Adults agreed that it was a delightful performance and also got a kick out of watching the children interact with Ania! They also were able to use Spanish props such as decorative fans and castanets, which is a Spanish percussion instrument consisting of two shellshaped pieces of hardwood and are a vital rhythmic element in traditional Spanish flamenco music.
Out of the Box Education will present their Dino Discovery program on Thursday, June 18, at 2 p.m. in the meeting room of the library. This performance will consist of hands-on interaction with a “live” dinosaur and fossils. Be sure and bring your children to be a part of this fun learning experience!
Immediately after Dino Discovery, the Treutlen County Farm Bureau will be on hand to distribute ice cream in honor of June being National Dairy Month!
All programs are free and open to the public, so beat the heat and join your friends for this next fun hour-long program!
