A total of 108 community members came out to pick up trash along the sides of the road, as volunteers from numerous neighborhoods and organizations – such as the Toombs County Boys and Girls Club, Vidalia High School Athletics, Walmart, the Vidalia Rotary Club, and more – worked together to remove over 100 bags of trash.
The Keep It Clean, Vidalia! committee shared their appreciation for the community members who took part through a formal statement, which read, “It’s been great to see more people from around the county getting involved. The effort continues to grow, and that’s because of folks who care enough to show up and help. Thank you to everyone who came out and got their hands dirty.”
The committee also thanked Toombs County Sheriff Jordan Kight and the Toombs County Sheriff’s Office for their work in helping with traffic control during the event to keep everyone safe.
