The Wheeler County High School Class of 2026 recently continued the tradition of celebrating their accomplishments with the community and younger students, as the graduates participated in a school walk through and senior parade.
On Friday, May 15, Wheeler County Class of 2026 Seniors walked handin- hand with the Wheeler County Class of 2038 through the halls of the school to celebrate the high school students’ upcoming graduation and Class of 2038’s kindergarten graduation. Throughout the walk, the graduates were cheered on by their fellow students and school staff, as everyone congratulated these individuals on a job well done.
Then, the traditional Wheeler County Senior Graduation Parade rolled through the Alamo Square on Saturday, May 16. The Parade tradition first began in 2020, when graduates were unable to celebrate their accomplishment with the traditional Graduation Ceremony because of the Covid-19 pandemic. To ensure these students were still celebrated, the community gathered in the center of Alamo and congratulated the graduates as they drove by on various vehicles in their caps and gowns; the tradition has continued each year since 2020, as the community comes together to celebrate the local seniors.
The Wheeler County High School Class of 2026 officially turned the tassel and graduated high school during a ceremony on Friday, May 22.
