The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders celebrated a major milestone last Friday as standout baseball player Brittan Tabor signed his letter of intent to continue his career at the collegiate level with the South Georgia State College Hawks.

Tabor has been a foundational piece for the Crusaders in recent years, putting together a highly decorated high school resume. He was a key contributor to the RTCA State Championship team two years ago and has earned All-State honors twice, along with three All-Region selections.

For the Crusaders standout, making it to the next level is the realization of a lifelong goal.

'It feels good. This has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid,' Tabor said during the signing. 'I have to thank my coaches, Coach Fitz, Coach Tuck, my pitching coach, my travel ball coach, just all of those guys that have helped me along the way. Have to thank my family for all they have done as well.'

The decision to join the Hawks ultimately came down to finding the right environment to develop and make an immediate impact on the field.

'South Georgia just fit, and it gives me a real opportunity to play right away, and get better and ready to hopefully move up from there,' Tabor added.

RTCA head coach Brian Fitzgerald highlighted Tabor’s significant impact on the program, noting that his ceiling remains incredibly high once he focuses solely on the diamond.

'Brittan has been really successful here. All-State, State Champion, thrown a couple of nohitters, struck out close to 300 batters, but he still hasn't reached his potential yet,' Fitzgerald said. 'He plays a lot of sports here and when he gets to college and can just dedicate himself to baseball, there is no telling how good he could be.'
