Eagles Blanked in Savannah
The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles baseball team couldn't find their rhythm at the plate this past Tuesday, dropping their only game of the week in a tough 7-0 road loss to the Savannah Athletic Association Jaguars.
Savannah established control early, pushing a run across in the bottom of the second inning and adding two more in the third to build a 3-0 lead. The Eagles hung around for most of the afternoon, but the Jaguars broke things wide open in the bottom of the sixth with a four-run rally to put the game comfortably out of reach.
The Jaguars' pitching staff was dialed in, tossing a no-hitter and completely silencing the Heritage bats for the afternoon. It was a frustrating outing for an Eagles squad that just couldn't get anything going offensively.
With the loss, VHA sits at an even 6-6 for the season. The guys will have a muchneeded opportunity to rest, reset, and put this one behind them as they take this week off for Spring Break.
