LRD Takes 2nd In Tourney

At the 62nd Annual Lyons Youth Tournament the 14U girls played two weeks ago with Lyons coming in second place. Soperton vs. Wheeler Co.

In the first round Soperton and Wheeler Co. faced off with Soperton coming out on top. They won the game over their rival, 7-0.

LRD vs. Soperton

In the second round Lyons, who had a first round bye, went up against Soperton. LRD came away with the win, 6-2 to move into the semifinals of the winners' bracket.

VRD vs. Emanuel Co.

Vidalia also had a bye in the first round of the tournament, and in the second round they faced off with Emanuel County. VRD struggled to get the bats going as they lost their game to Emanuel, 12-0. VRD vs. Wheeler Co.

In the losers' bracket, Vidalia took on Wheeler County. Wheeler got the win over Vidalia by the score of 4-1. Wheeler vs. Soperton

Wheeler and Soperton met up for a rematch in the losers' bracket. This time it was Wheeler that came out on top, winning the game, 4-0. LRD vs. Emanuel Co.

Lyons also fell to Emanuel County in the semifinals. Lyons played a good game, but came up just short, 7-5. LRD vs. Wheeler Co.

It was a battle between Lyons and Wheeler County in the semifinals of the losers' bracket. But Lyons came away with a one-run victory. They defeated Wheeler, 5-4. LRD vs. Emanuel Co.

Championship Lyons had their rematch with Emanuel for the title, but it was not to be as Emanuel came out on top. Emanuel defeated Lyons, 13-3, to win the Championship.

Both Lyons and Vidalai played this week in the GRPA State Tournament which was held in Vidalia.
