A Uvalda Man remains behind bars in Statesboro after being accused of stealing more than $100,000 of construction equipment.
On November 19, the Statesboro Police Department released a video and photo of a theft suspect to the public, as they asked for citizens’ help in identifying the man, who they shared was “a person of interest in the theft of construction equipment with a combined value of over $100,000.”
Two days later, Statesboro Police Captain Jared Akins announced that the suspect had been identified as Jamie Lynn Allen, 44, of Uvalda. He credited multiple tips from the public and information gained from a follow-up investigation by detectives for identifying Allen, who was taken into custody in Dublin by the Dublin Police Department on November 20.
Allen is accused of stealing two skid steers, causing him to be charged with two counts of theft by taking – motor vehicle. He was returned to the Bulloch County Jail, where he remains without bond. The investigation is still ongoing, and additional charges could be added in the future.
