VHS Baseball Closes Season

The Indians baseball team of Vidalia High School struggled at the plate and dropped the final game of the season, 2-0, to the Herons of Brantley County in Nahunta on Monday of last week.

The Indians only had four hits on the night with two of them coming from the bat of Ian Moye, who was 2-3 in the game. Jackson Berry pitched well in a losing effort. The junior pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on four hits, while striking out nine.

Brantley scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning to take the early lead. They added just one more run in the sixth inning, but it was enogh to win the game.

Vidalia finishes their season with an overall record of 11-17, and they were 6-9 in Region 3AA. VHS finished in fifth place in the Region, missing the State Playoffs for the first time since 2017. The Indians will say good bye to seven Seniors: Mason Toole, Brayden McCaw, Ty Beck, Tucker McDonald, Carson Ricks, Andrew Norfleet, and Lawson Lowe.
