TCHS Golf Shooting Well

The Toombs County High School golf teams showcased their skills in two exciting tournaments this past week.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, both the Men’s and Women’s teams traveled to the prestigious Georgia Southern Golf Course to participate in the Bulloch County Championship. Selected as the sole representatives from outside Bulloch County, the Toombs County teams held their own against some tough competition.

Men’s Team Shoots Solid Score: The Men’s team delivered a strong performance, carding a combined score of 187. The highlight came in the form of a trio of impressive 46's from sophomores Clay Conner, Noah Anken, and Vick Moore.

Women’s Team Led by Thursby: The Women’s team, led by junior standout Chanleigh Thursby with a score of 59, finished with a team total of 119.

Thursday

The Toombs County Men’s team bounced back in a big way on Thursday, competing in a tri-match against Statesboro High School and Metter High School at Willow Lake Country Club in Metter. The Bulldogs emerged victorious, edging out Statesboro by a single stroke with a team score of 159.

Sophomores Shine Again: Sophomore duo Vick Moore and Noah Anken continued their impressive form, leading the way for the Toombs County team with scores of 38 and 39, respectively.

The Toombs County Golf teams will be back in action this Wednesday, hosting a match against Jeff Davis High School. The Dawgs will then hit the road for a busy weekend, competing in both the Packer Invitational in Moultrie and the Gregg Wolff Invitational in Metter.
