Vikings Get A Couple Of Wins

The Vikings basketball teams of Treutlen County High School each played three games last week. The Lady Vikings dropped two of their games, while the boys won 2 out of 3. Treutlen took on Hawkinsville on Tuesday, was at home against Wilcox County on Friday and then were at Swainsboro on Saturday. Girls vs. Hawkinsville

The Lady Vikings rolled to an easy win over the Lady Red Devils. Treutlen jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the first quarter, and they extended that to a 35-16 lead by the end of the first half.

In the third quarter the Lady Vikings were on top 51-26, and they took the win, 63-36.

Treutlen was led by JaNerriah Lovett with 24 points, ShaCaria Jackson added 21, and Zaleria Miller scored 11 in the win. Boys vs. Hawkinsville

The boys pulled out a close win over the Red Devils on Tuesday at home. Treutlen took the win, 60-57, in the Region contest.

Girls vs. Wilcox

Wilcox got the win over the Lady Vikings on Friday night in Soperton. Wilcox held a 15-14 lead at the end of the first, but in the second the Lady Vikings came back and took the lead. They were on top 28-24 at the end of the first half.

The second half was all Wilcox, though. They outscored Treutlen 2110 in the third to take a 45-38 lead at the end of the third, and then Wilcox went on to win the game, 66-47.

Treutlen was led by Jackson with 13 points, and Lovett and Miller each scored 10 in the loss.

Boys vs. Wilcox

The boys also dropped their game to the Patriots. Treutlen gave it their best, but fell short, 65-62.

Girls vs. Swainsboro

It was all Lady Tigers on Saturday. They pulled ahead early and by halftime were in front 52-8. Swainsboro went on to win the game over Treutlen, 93-15.

Boys vs. Swainsboro

The boys got a win over the Tigers, and did it in dominating fashion. Treutlen took the win over Swainsboro, 84-47.

This week Treutlen wraps up the regular season on Saturday against the Eagles of Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m.
