Vikings Win Four Games

It was a good week for the Viking basketball teams of Treutlen County High School as they swept Telfair County and Jenkins County last week.

Girls vs. Telfair

The Lady Vikings took the win over the Lady Trojans on Tuesday at home. They held a 14-13 lead at the end of the first quarter continued from page

and extended that in the second to 29-19.

In the third quarter of the game, Telfair came storming back as they outscored the Vikings 18-7 to take the lead, 37-36. But in the fourth the Lady Vikings dominated as they rolled to a 58-44 win.

Treutlen was led by ShaCaria Jackson with 28 points, with JaNerriah Lovett added 16 in the win.

Boys vs. Telfair

The Treutlen boys took a big win over the Trojans in a Region matchup. The Vikings rolled to a 79-67 win over the Trojans.

Vs. Jenkins

The Lady Vikings easily took the win over the Lady War Eagles on Saturday in Soperton. Treutlen cruised to a 64-37 win.

The boys also won over the War Eagles, but in a close battle Treutlen came out on top, 63-60, over Jenkins in the nonregion game.

The Lady Vikings are now 13-7 on the year and are 6-2 in Region play, while the boys are 15-5 on the season and are 6-2 in the Region. This week Treutlen hosted Hawkinsville on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday at home against Wilcox County at 6:00 p.m., and then will be at Swainsboro on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
