Montgomery Falls To Bucs

The Montgomery County High School Eagles football team was in Darien last Friday night to take on McIntosh County Academy's Buccaneers. MCA pulled away in the second and third quarters to get the win over the Eagles.

In the first quarter of the game each team found the end zone, and each team missed their extra points to send it to the second tied at 6-6.

In the second quarter the Bucs began to pull away. They tacked on two more score to push their lead to, 18-6, over the Eagles. MCA added one more touchdown with less than two minutes to play in the first half to take a 25-6 lead into halftime.

The Bucs scored two more times in the third quarter as they led 39-6 over Montgomery. Each team scored in the fourth quarter, with the Eagles adding a two-point conversion. That made the final score 46-14, with MCHS falling to the Bucs.

This week the Eagles will host Jenkins County, who comes into the game with a 7-0 record. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Mt. Vernon.
