The Southern States Athletic Conference has announced the 2023 Baseball All- Conference Awards prior to the conference championship in Hattiesburg, Mississippi this week. A total of three Brewton- Parker College Barons earned conference honors while 10 earned Academic All-SSAC honors and one earning Champions of Character recognition.

Eduardo Castillo led BPC with a First-Team All-Conference selection as the main-man behind the dish for the Barons this season. Castillo appeared in all 48 games for Brewton- Parker producing 49 hits, 34 RBIs, 10 doubles, four homers, one triple, and 21 runs while recording a .302 batting average. Defensively, he notched 340 put outs and 31 assists for a .987 fielding percentage with just five errors. He also caught 16 runners stealing and was a part of five double plays.

Ryan Dopson earned a placement on the Gold Glove Team, producing a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 19 appearances on the mound for the Barons. Dopson finished the regular season with nine starts and marked a 4-7 overall record with one save.

Lastly, Jack Morris was named to the All-Freshman Team. In his first season as a Baron, Morris made 31 appearances and notched 22 hits, which included five homers and two doubles, finishing with a .289 batting average. He’s gathered 14 RBIs and has notched a total of 39 bases.

As for the rest of the honorees, Dakota Connell, Drew DeMasi, Cole Graham, Matthew Hager, Robin Haven, Jacob Mantooth, Chase Howze, Chandler Koerner, J. Reid Phillips, and Tate Worrell all earned Barons & Noble College All-Academic Team selections while Dopson was honored as a member of the Champions of Character Team.

Brewton-Parker is set to begin postseason play tomorrow at 5 p.m. ET as the Barons take on No. 2-seeded Talladega in Hattiesburg.
