RTCA Wins Over CCA

The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders baseball team closed out the regular season last week and will prepare for the State Playoffs which begin this week. RTCA ended the season with a win over Citizens Christian Academy on Monday of last week. vs. CCA

The game went scoreless over the first two innings, but in the top of the third inning the Patriots of CCA got on the board as they scored two runs. RTCA answered in the bottom half of the inning with two of their own to tie the game at 2-2.

In the third inning RTCA broke out on top with six runs to take an 8-2 lead over CCA. In the top of the fifth inning CCA plated three runs to close the lead to 8-5. RTCA added a run in the bottom of the fifth to lead 9-5, and then the Crusaders held over the next two innings to win the game by the 9-5 margin.

Gage Brantley led RTCA with 3 RBI's, with Dawson Pinkard and Brittan Tabor each driving in two runs.

RTCA has a bye in the first round of the GIAA State Playoffs. They will play Friday or Saturday against the winner of the Grace Christian and Crisp Academy series.
