VHS Upsets Richmond Co.

The Vidalia High School boys tennis team defeated the #1 seed from Region 4AA, Richmond County Technical Career Magnet school, 5-0, on Tuesday of last week. The win advances the boys to the Sweet 16 round of the State Playoffs where they went up against Jeff Davis in Hazlehurst on Monday of this week after presstime.

The sweep of RCTCM came with Vidalia winning every set in the match. Caleb Beck at 1st singles, won 6-1, 6-2. 2nd singles, Danny Richardson, won 6-0, 6-0. Senior, Delorenzo Lawrence at 3rd singles won 8-0. First doubles, Sukumar Paidi and Jameson Rolen won 6-0, 6-0, and 2nd doubles, Ayden Goss and Larsen Carter won 8-0.

The VHS boys traveled to Hazlehurst on Monday of this week to take on the Yellow Jackets, after presstime.

TCHS Fishing Headed To State – The Toombs County High School Lake Dawgs, Drew Woodruff and Levy Martin, placed 21st at the GHSA Regional Tournament on March 15. Woodruff and Martin join teammates,Neal Braddy and Hunter Hitchcock,as qualifiers for the State Tournament at Clark’s Hill on May 20 where they will compete for the State Championship.
