The Vidalia High School track and field teams traveled to Brunswick to compete in the Big Play Slay Invitational last Thursday. The boys placed 2nd to Brunswick High School while the ladies placed 3rd to Glynn Academy and Savannah Christian Prep.

Coach Mandy Godbee said, “The Lady Indians stepped up to the competition and turned in 15 personal best performances for the day. This is the youngest team we have ever fielded, but the ladies are fierce competitors. Their growth and development is a testament to their determination and commitment to the team and their personal goals.

“The boys had to overcome a few bumps throughout the day while succumbing to 2 injuries that prevented them from finishing the 4×100 and 4×200 relays. They still competed very well and turned in 13 personal best performances. Freshman Cash Driggers has clawed his way up the rankings in the 800 as he turned in another three second personal best.”
