Shots Fired At Walmart

The Vidalia Police Department arrested a belligerent shoplifter accused of shooting a gun in the Walmart parking lot on Monday afternoon.

At approximately 5:35 p.m. on March 13, the Vidalia Police Department responded to Walmart in reference of an irate female shoplifter, later identified as Kristen Castillo, 32, of Carbondale, Illinois. As officers traveled to the scene, they were informed that the female was in possession of a firearm and had discharged continued from page

it in the parking lot. A short time after officers’ arrival, Castillo was found on the back side of the property and was confronted by officers. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Toombs County Detention Center.

No officers or citizens were injured during the incident.
