MCHS Splits With Bacon

The Montgomery County High School soccer teams faced off with Bacon County on Tuesday of last week in Alma. The Lady Eagles picked up a win, while the boys fell to the Red Raiders.

It was a close match, but the Lady Eagles pulled out the win. In the first half of the game the Eagles trailed by a 2-1 margin to Bacon County when the buzzer sounded.

In the second half of the game MCHS kept the Raiders off the board while they scored two goals to jump ahead 3-2.

Giselle Rodriguez led the Eagles with 2 goals, and Joselyn Sanchez scored 1 goal and had 2 assists.

Boys The boys did not fare as well as Bacon rolled to a win. The Raiders scored 9 goals in the first half of the game to take a commanding lead. In the second half the Raiders needed just one goal to win by the mercy rule, and they did just that to win the game 10-0.

This week the Eagles had a rematch with Bacon County on Tuesday after preesstime. MCHS will be at Portal on Friday with the first game at 5:00 p.m.
