On Monday of this week at Wheeler County High School Tylon Gorham signed his letter of intent to play football at Georgia Military College. GMC is a highly rated JUCO program that prepares lots of players to move on to bigger schools.

Gorham said, “All four years I have worked to get here. I wasn’t very good early on, but Coach Smith really helped me improve and get to this point. I want to thank all of my family for staying on me and helping me keep going. Once I got on defense, I found my spot because I really like to hit. With GMC I feel like if I go there and really play, I can be at a Power 5 school within two years. I'm excited to give it my all.”

Gorham’s mother Pricilla added, “I am proud of him, just so proud of my son. He did a good job and will continue to do so. I am praying that he can show his talent and get those opportunities. He has been playing since rec league and worked his way into this. We are excited to see where this leads.”

Coach Thomas Smith stated, “Tylon was huge for us. He started out playing some quarterback, but you could tell from his frame that he could be a Saturday player if he moved to defensive end. He was two-time First Team All-Region and made the All-State Team this year. He was just a force for us on defense. Just super excited for him moving forward for his future. The big thing with GMC is a chance to go to a Power 5 school after that. He has some Division 1 offers, but he wanted to bet on himself. I am excited to see him develop for his future.”
