The Vidalia High School basketball teams took on the Irish of Dublin on Saturday at home. The girls pulled out the win but the boys lost a close contest.

Girls vs. Dublin

It was a close game in the first quarter with Vidalia holding just a one point lead, 13-12 when the buzzer sounded. In the second quarter VHS pulled away as they outscored the Lady Irish 2111. That gave VHS a 3423 lead at halftime.

In the third Vidalia increased their lead to 4729. The Indians took the win 56-42 over the Irish.

Boys vs. Dublin

In the boys game the Irish held an 11-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, and were on top 2519 at the end of the first half as the Indians offense struggled to get going.

VHS came out in the third quarter and outscored the Irish 13-5. That put VHS on top 3230 over Dublin heading to the fourth.

But in that fourth quarter the Irish went back on top and picked up the win over VHS, 5247.

This week the Indians were in Twin City on Tuesday to play Emanuel County Institute after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday at Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m. and then will host ECI on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
