BPC Wrestling At Life U

The Brewton-Parker College men’s wrestling team traveled to Marietta to compete in the Life U Open on Saturday.

The Barons captured 15th with 63.5 team points in a field that listed 43 teams/clubs alongside three unattached groups listed. Only one BPC wrestler earned a placement out of the 26 that were wrestling for the Barons.

Charlie Henkel highlighted the day with a fourth-place finish in the 184lb freshman/sophomore bracket, producing 18.5 team points. He opened the day with three-straight pins before falling in the semifinal match by a 12-4 major decision. He pinned his opponent in the consolation semifinals before forfeiting the thirdplace match.

Ethan Larsen earned eight points for Brewton-Parker, wrestling in the 197lb freshman/sophomore bracket. Larsen finished the day 3-2 with two pins. Trey Childress went 2-2 on the day for 6.5 team points in the 141lb freshman/sophomore division.

The other 23 wrestlers finished the day with 3.5 team points or less.
