Wheeler Defeats Treutlen

The Bulldogs of Wheeler County High School played host to the Vikings of Treutlen County last Friday night in Alamo. Wheeler rolled to a big win over their rival as they improved their record to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the Region. The Vikings are now 0-9 on the year and 0-4 in the Region. Wheeler had taken the lead 7-0 in the first quarter of the game, but extended that just before the end of the quarter. Caysen Harvey scooped up a Treutlen fumble at the Vikings 25yard line and took it in for a touchdown. Jashua Juarez added the extra point to put Wheeler on top 14-0. Wheeler pushed the lead to 21-0 in the second quarter of the game. Wheeler continued to pull away from the Vikings on the way to a 49-20 win.

This week Wheeler will wrap up the regular season on the road in Rochelle against Wilcox County. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. The Vikings will be at home against the Trojans of Telfair County at 7:30 p.m.
