The Montgomery County School System (MCSS) has been recognized by the Heart of Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency (HGRESA) for having the highest, 4-Year Cohort Graduation Rate throughout all HGRESA districts for FY2022. The school system, which previously had a 100% graduation rate for FY2021, topped the leaderboards again this year with a graduation rate of 97.1%, a rate only lowered because of the altered educational plan for one student (who graduated and attended a small private ceremony) and another student, who Montgomery County High School (MCHS) Principal Dr. Scott Barrow says dropped out of school despite the staff’s best efforts to convince the student otherwise. Barrow also commented on this accomplishment for the school. “Montgomery County Schools have a great staff dedicated to graduating students and having them college and career ready.” He also shared that he hopes that the trend of high graduation rates continues throughout the years.

HGRESA covers a total of 10 school districts: Bleckley County, Dodge County, Dublin City, Laurens County, Montgomery County, Pulaski County, Telfair County, Treutlen County, Wheeler County, and Wilcox County Schools.
