Durden 1-Hitter Gives RTCA Win

The Lady Crusaders softball team of Robert Toombs Christian Academy played just one game last week, but they got the win over the Eagles of David Emanuel Academy at home on Tuesday. A great performance by Meredith Durden in the circle was key to the win.

Neither team scored over the first three innings of the game, but in the bottom of the fourth the Lady Crusaders took the lead with 4 runs. They added 5 more in the fifth inning to win the game by the run rule, 9-0.

Railee Thomas led RTCA with 3 hits and 2 RBI's. Durden got the win in the circle giving up just one hit, no walks, and striking out 10 batters.

This week RTCA played Edmund Burke on Monday and First Preparatory Christian Academy on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at Thomas Jefferson in Louisville at 4:00 p.m. They will close out the regular season next week with games against Bulloch Academy and Citizens Christian. RTCA is currently 7-6-1 on the year and are 3-1 in the Region.
