Heartbreaker For Lady Crusaders Softball

The Lady Crusaders softball team of Robert Toombs Christian Academy played one game last week and lost a heartbreaker to Pinewood Christian Academy on Tuesday in Bellville. RTCA took the early lead with two runs in the top of the second inning. Pinewood answered with a run in the bottom of the second inning to close the lead to 2-1.

RTCA added a run in the top of the third inning to go ahead 3-1, and then plated another run in the fifth to make it 4-1. Pinewood came back with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to close it to 4-2, and they tied the game at 4-4 in the seventh inning to force extra innings.

In the top of the eighth inning RTCA scored one run to go ahead 5-4 on the Patriots, but in the bottom of the eighth Pinewood plated two runs to get the win over the Crusaders, 6-5.

This week RTCA was scheduled to play Edmund Burke at home on Monday and then Windsor Academy in Macon on Tuesday both after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday in Stillmore against David Emanuel Academy.
