BPC Soccer Preseason Poll

The Brewton-Parker College soccer teams were ranked in the SSAC Coaches' Preseason Poll. The poll was announced by the SSAC on Friday of last week.

Women

The Brewton-Parker Women’s Soccer Program was selected to finish fourth in the 2022 SSAC Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Poll.

The Lady Barons garnered 51 voting points in the poll, landing just four points shy of SSAC newcomer, Life (Ga.). Last season, Brewton- Parker finished 10-10 overall and 5-2 during conference play. (Courtesy of BPC) William Carey (Miss.) earned the top spot with 81 voting points and all nine firstplace votes followed by Middle Georgia in second with 72 points.

Life landed at third with 55 points while Dalton State (Ga.) followed BPC in fifth with 46 points. Mobile (Ala.) was selected sixth, earning 45 points followed by Faulkner (Ala.) in seventh with 27 points.

Blue Mountain (Miss.) was picked eighth with 19 points while Talladega (Ala.) rounds out the poll in ninth with nine points.

The Lady Barons open the regular season with a home match against Webber International (Fla.) on Friday, Aug. 26. SSAC Play begins with Dalton State visiting Mount Vernon on Saturday, Sept. 24.

Men

The Brewton-Parker Men’s Soccer Program was selected to finish sixth in the 2022 SSAC Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Preseason Poll, conference officials announced on Friday afternoon.

The Barons received 32 voting points in the poll, landing 14 points behind Faulkner (Ala.).

Last season, Brewton- Parker finished 4-12-2 overall and 2-4-1 during conference action. Head Coach Bob Neumann is prepped for his second season at the helm of the program.

Mobile (Ala.) secured first place in the poll with 80 points and eight of the first-place votes followed by William Carey (Miss.) in second with 72 points and the final first-place vote. Dalton State (Ga.) is picked to finish third with 62 points with SSAC newcomer, Life (Ga.) predicted to finish fourth with 53 points. Faulkner captured fifth with 46 points while Middle Georgia landed behind the Barons at seventh with 28 points.

Blue Mountain (Miss.) was picked to finish eighth with 23 points while Talladega (Ala.) rounds out the poll in ninth with nine points. The Barons open the regular season with a home match against Truett McConnell (Ga.) on Thursday, Aug. 25. SSAC Play begins with Dalton State visiting Mount Vernon on Saturday, Sept. 24.
