Quotes for our Times:
Leah Barkoukis, online features editor at Townhall.com: We Now Know Who's Pushing Biden on Student Loan 'Forgiveness' and Why.
President Biden is inching closer to "forgiv ing” student loans—a move that is not only illegal but profoundly unfair to hardworking taxpayers, most of whom never went to college. Others who did go made sacrifices to pay off their loans and are now deeply resentful that a swath of borrowers may have their debts cleared. Now we know why President Biden is actually entertaining such a foolish idea to cancel up to $10,000 of debt per borrower.
According to a conversation between The Washington Post’s James Hohmann and The Bulwark's Charlie Sykes, Georgia Democrats Stacey Abrams and Raphael Warnock are putting tremendous pressure on the administration to move on student loan “forgiveness.” Abrams argues it’s the only way to get the base to turn out.
Will Alexander, a retired U.S Marine and former print journalist: Pure Politics Is Feminizing the Marine Corps.
The Marine Corps tweeting honors to Pride Month with crayon-like rainbow bullets banded to a helmet was a historic moment because it signaled – at least for the hand-picked top brass – that the Democrats’ long war to get LG- BTQ members to serve openly in the military, is finally over. It’s been a triumph, not for national security, but of pure politics. The Corps was a hard nut to crack, but it cracked. . .
Rank-and-file Marines are being asked – no, forced – to suspend common sense, ig- nore human nature, and justify a lifestyle (espe cially when it comes to transgenderism) that’s trying to create loopholes in divine law. Most importantly for the military, Marines are being asked to pretend that being indoctrinated into the lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender, queen agenda has no effect on them.
Brian C. Joondeph, a physician and writer for The American Thinker: Hurricane Joe – A Category Five Economic Calamity.
“This is among – if not the most – complex, dynamic environments I’ve ever seen in my career. The confluence of the number of shocks to the system to me is unprecedented. We expect there’s going to be tougher economic times ahead.”
It's clear that America is heading toward an economic hurricane. Do others recognize this, aside from the three commenting above? Does the media notice, or are they too busy reporting on COVID cases as if it’s still 2020?
Terry Paulson, PhD, psychologist, professional speaker, andauthor: America'sChoice: Government Control or Liberty.
The Biden administration has helped un leash a new epidemic that is far more dangerous to our republic than any virus known to man — it's a virulent epidemic of legitimized government control. The spread of China's COVID-19 certainly provided the grounds for the start of our government control 'addiction.' Yes, using government power is addictive. We've known that power corrupts, and the only way to feed the corrupt addiction is to find reasons to exercise more power and to attack anyone who tries to stop it.
Once the COVID lockdown was in place, it was far too easy to extend controls. A taste of such power reinforces the importance of the politicians who control it. They now know they can keep people home — keep people from meeting — make people be vaccinated — make changes in voting options — take from some citizens to give to others. Once addicted to such power, it's tempting for politicians to take advantage of other opportunities to inflict their will.
