Mr. Julian Lockley

Mr. Julian Lee Lockley, age 88, of the Normantown Community, died Thursday, June 2, 2022, at his home after an extended illness. He was a native of Marvin Yancey Community in Toombs County and lived in Vidalia and

Normantown most of his life. He retired after 42 years from Piggly Wiggly Southern as a truck driver. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Bible Baptist Church. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and was a good handyman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Myles Preston “Buddy” Lockley and Doris Pecola Kersey Lockley; 6 siblings, Millard Lockley, Milton Lockley, James Lockley, Mary Lockley Davis, Johnnie Will Lockley Davis, Marjorie Lockley Davis; and daughter-inlaw, Diane Clark Lockley.

His family includes his wife of 66 years, Betty Sharpe Lockley of Normantown; 3 children, Leah Lockley Fant and husband Barry of Kathleen, John Lee Lockley, Sr. and Jeff Lockley, both of Normantown; 4 grandchildren, Stephen Fant and wife Katey of Warner Robins, John Lee Lockley, Jr of Jacksonville, FL, Carly Fant Bell and husband Jesse of Kathleen, and Myles Lockley and wife Cortney of Normantown; 2 great-granchildren, Sadie Grace Bell and Caroline Mary Fant; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was Sunday afternoon, June 5, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Stark and Mr. Jim Dowd officiating. Burial followed at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Davis, Mac Davis, Cecil Thompson, Maynard Lockley, Sandy Sharpe and Sean Beach. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Fountain, James Mobley and Jim Dowd.

Flowers are accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Bethany Hospice, 109 S. Duval St., Claxton, GA 30417.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia was charge of arrangements.
