Body Found in Pond, LPD Investigating

The Lyons Police Department is investigating the discovery of a man’s body in a pond near the Billy Poole Trailer Park on Oglethorpe Street in Lyons on Monday around 3 p.m. Chief Wesley Walker said today his department was notified by a person who was passing by the site and saw the body in the pond. Walker said the body has been sent to the state crime lab and his department is in the process of identifying the remains and notifying next of kin.
