Indians Take On Wolverines

The Vidalia High School Indians soccer teams hosted Woodville-Tompkins last Monday in the final games of the regular season. It was a good day for the Indians against the Wolverines as both the girls and boys picked up wins.

Girls

The Lady Indians pulled out an overtime win over Woodville. In the first half of the game the Lady Wolverines took the lead as they scored twice. VHS was held to just one goal in the first half, sending the game to halftime with Woodville on top 2-1.

In the second half of the game the Lady Indians found the back of the net one time as they tied the game at 2-2. The VHS defense kept Woodville out of the net in the second half to force overtime. In the overtime period VHS was able to put one more goal on the board as they took the win, 3-2 over the Lady Wolverines.

Miya Howard led VHS with two goals and Deserae Lumley added one for the Lady Indians in the win.

Boys

The first half of the boys game was a stalemate as neither team scored a goal. But in the second half Woodville put one on the board, but the Indians got two goals as they took the win over the Wolverines, 2- 1.

VHS got goals from Konner Owens and from Clayton Cox.

The Lady Indians season has come to an end with a record of 6-11, and 4-8 in the Region. The boys will move on to play against Putnam County in the first round of the State Playoffs. The game will be this Friday in Eatonton with the time TBA.


VHS GOLF – The Vidalia High School Indian golf team won the Spring Break Classic in Bleckley County last Monday. The Indians had a 314-team score. Sloan Fountain shot a 73 and was Low Medalist for the tournament.
