VHS Boys Win Two

The Vidalia High School soccer teams took on Bacon County and East Laurens last week. The Lady Indians dropped both of their games, but the boys picked up two wins as they moved to 9-8 on the season and 7-4 in Region play.

Girls vs. Bacon

It was another tough loss for the VHS girls as they have been struggling over the past few weeks.

The Lady Red Raiders of Bacon County picked up three goals in the first half of the game to take the lead. They added three more in the second half as they took the win over VHS, 6-0.

Boys vs. Bacon

This was a tight game that had to go to a shootout before a winner was decided. VHS held the lead over the Raiders at halftime, 3-2. But in the second half Vidalia scored one goal while Bacon picked up two to tie the game at 4-4. That sent the game into overtime. After neither team scored in overtime, it went to a shootout with VHS dominating that. VHS put four into the back of the net and held Bacon to just one. That gave the Indians the win. Konner Owens continued to play well for VHS as he picked up the hat trick with three goals in the game. Connor Higgs added one goal in the game. Clayton Cox and Tate McDaniel each had an assist.

Girls vs. E. Laurens

VHS could not stop the Lady Falcons on Wednesday at home. East Laurens scored eight goals in the game as they took the win over VHS 8-1.

The lone goal for VHS was scored by Aleah Ajohda with an assist from Hailey Pittman.

Boys vs. E. Laurens

The VHS boys got their third win in a row as they blanked the Falcons, 4-0. Owens had another big game with three more goals. McDaniel added the other goal. Gauge Martin and Dugan Johnson each had an assist in the game.

Vidalia wrapped up their regular season on Monday of this week after presstime as they hosted Woodville-Tompkins.
