The Vidalia High School boys golf team took 2nd place last Monday in the Jeff Davis Invitational. Matt Bell carded a back-nine 33 to shoot a 73, which was the 2nd lowest score of the day.

The Indians shot 320, which was the lowest score of the year, and Vidalia Coach Chad Barker said that he was very proud of the team and the effort. 'I'm extremely proud of the team for yesterday's 2nd place finish. We started off slow on the front nine but really turned it on the back nine led by Matt's 33.'

Sloan Fountain shot an 80, followed by Tyler Woodruff with a 79, Andrew Velazquez with an 88, and Conner Coleman with a 90. Barker concluded by saying the team's goals are still within reach. 'Our goal every year is to be competitive and win our Area Tournament. The team has worked very hard during practice to get better, and it shows through improvement in every tournament thus far.'
