Greater Vidalia Chamber Graduates 2022 Youth Leadership Program Class

A year devoted to shaping future leaders came to a close Monday, March 21, as members of the 2021-2022 Greater Vidalia Youth Leadership class gathered at Lyons First Baptist Church for a graduation ceremony. The event offers the students an opportunity to show their parents, program sponsors, and participating school officials what they learned during the program about themselves, the community, and how they can contribute as future leaders. Program Cochair Marissa Brown stated, “This group of students is really impressive. They developed so much throughout the year, and I cannot wait to see them come back to lead our community one day.” During the program, participants learned about different facets of the community that relate to agriculture, economic development and healthcare. They also participated in sessions including “Professional Development” and “Putting Your Best Foot Forward,” which were designed to help them become successful in future careers.

Applications are available for next year’s class. Rising juniors and seniors are eligible. For more information, contact Amber O’Connor at ambero@ greatervidaliachamber. com for an application.

This year’s presenting sponsor was Southern Nuclear and graduation event sponsors were Brewton-Parker College and The Temples Company.
