Eagles Soccer Wins 3

It was a busy week for the Montgomery County High School soccer teams as they took on Dooly County, Dublin, and Hawkinsville. The girls won two games and the boys picked up one win.

Girls vs. Dooly

In the girls game against the Lady Bobcats MCHS scored three times in the first half, but Dooly found the back of the net twice. That made the score at halftime 3-2, with MCHS on top. In the second half of the game MCHS added two more goals while keeping Dooly off the board. That gave the Eagles the win, 5-2.

Carley Moxley picked up 2 goals for MCHS with 1 assist. Yarizbeth Ortiz had 1 goal and 2 assists, Giselle Rodriguez had 1 goal and 1 assist, Citlali Hernandez-Gonzalez had 1 goal, and Joselyn Sanchez added 2 assists.

Boys vs. Dooly

It was a tough game for the Eagles as they took on the Bobcats. In the first half the score was tied at 2-2, but in the second half Dooly pulled away. MCHS scored one goal in the second half, while Dooly added nine more to take the win, 11-3 over the Eagles.

Girls vs. Dublin

MCHS was not able to score against the Lady Irish. Dublin picked up one goal in the first half of the game and another in the second half as they won 2-0 over the Lady Eagles.

Boys vs. Dublin

The boys also dropped their game to Dublin. Dublin took the win over the Eagles 3-2. Girls vs. Hawkinsville

MCHS got the win over the Lady Red Devils. The Eagles scored three times in the first half of the game and then added a goal in the second half on the way to a 4-0 win. Boys vs. Hawkinsville

It took double overtime for the winner to be decided in the boys game against the Devils. MCHS held a 2-0 lead at halftime, but in the second half Hawkinsville scored twice to tie the game at 2-2 and force overtime.

In the first overtime neither team scored, but in OT2, MCHS got a goal as they took the win, 3-2.

The Lady Eagles are 7-5 overall and are 6-4 in Region play. The boys are 4-5 overall and are 3-4 in the Region. This week the Eagles took on Dublin on Monday after presstime. The girls will host Treutlen on Thursday and the boys will host Bryan County with the first game at 5:00 p.m.
