CLEAN-UPDay

Annual area trash pickups brought out scores of volunteers in Vidalia and Montgomery County on Saturday, March 26. The City of Vidalia had several groups participate, including J.D. Dickerson Elementary School Staff, Vidalia Rotary Club Members, City Council representatives, City employees, Calvary on Aimwell Youth and Adults, St. Paul AME Church members, Republic Services Employees, and Citizens of Georgia Power. The groups, which volunteered for half a day, split up to cover several areas: Lyons Vidalia Road, Downtown Vidalia, Jefferson Street, Highway 280, Highway 292, and several more areas.

Meanwhile, the Montgomery Matters Clean-Up focused on the dirt roads within Montgomery County that were near each of the participants’ homes. Cleanups took place on Adams Road in Uvalda, Morris Road in Higgston, Creek Trail Road in Kibbee, and at several other sites.
