TCHS Soccer Splits Games

The Bulldog soccer teams of Toombs County High School faced off with Woodville-Tompkins at home on Tuesday and then were at East Laurens on Thursday last week. TCHS split with boys schools.

Girls vs. Woodville

The Lady Bulldogs ran away with a win over the Lady Wolverines of Woodville-Tompkins. Toombs scored six first half goals, and added two more in the second half to take the win, 8-0.

Anyadi Colmenares had another huge game for TCHS as she found the back of the net six times in the game and had an assist. Gisselle Delgado and Maritza Zamorano each added a goal and an assist. Josseline Zamorano had 2 assists,

Autumn Jarriel had 1 assist and Elida Cruz had 1 assist.

Boys vs. Woodville

The boys contest had to go to overtime to be decided. Neither team scored in the first half of the game, but both teams picked up a goal in the second half with Jose Leon scoring for Toombs with Julian Marin-Vital adding the assist. That sent the game to overtime. And in that period Woodville scored one goal as they took the win, 2-1, over Toombs.

Girls vs. E. Laurens

The Lady Bulldogs fell to the Lady Falcons 2-1. Colmenares scored the only goal for Toombs in the loss.

Boys vs. E. Laurens

The boys got a win over the Falcons as they scored two times in the first half and four more in the second on the way to a 6-1 win. Gustavo Delgado scored 3 goals in the game. Leon, Pablo Castanon, and Miguel Granados each scored one goal, with Marin-Vital picking up 3 assists and Castanon adding 2 more.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 7-5-1 on the year and are 4-4 in the Region, while the boys are 7-4-2 and 6-2 in the Region.

This week the Bulldogs hosted Vidalia on Tuesday after presstime. They will not play again until next week at Jeff Davis on Tuesday.
