TCHS Sweeps Swainsboro

The Toombs County High School soccer teams faced off with the Tigers of Swainsboro last week at home on Tuesday. The Bulldogs swept Swainsboro on the day.

Girls

It was a big first half for Toombs that got them the win. The Lady Bulldogs picked up three goals in the first half of the game while only allowing one from the Lady Tigers. That gave them a 3-1 lead at halftime.

In the second half of the game TCHS did not score any more goals, but they held Swainsboro to just one goal. That gave Toombs the win, 3-2.

Anyadi Colmenares scored all three goals for the Lady Bulldogs with Maritza Zamorano adding an assist.

Boys

In the boys game the Bulldogs ran away with a win. Five different players scored for Toombs as they took a 10-0 win. TCHS scored six goals in the first half and four more in the second.

Pablo Castanon led the Bulldogs with four goals, Julian Marin-Vital and Gustavo Delgado each scored twice, and Axcel Barbosa and Yovanny Zamorano each added a goal.

This week Toombs hosted Woodville-Tompkins on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at East Laurens with the first game starting at 5:00 p.m.
