“Dancing for The Stars” Slated for March 3

According to Director Patricia Dixon, the United Way of Montgomery, Toombs, and Wheeler Counties and the Power of the Purse are excitedly preparing for the upcoming “Dancing For the Stars” fundraiser, which will occur on March 3 at Hawk’s Point. “Dancing for the Stars” is a fun community event where well-known citizens participate in a dance competition to raise money for charitable organizations. This year’s participants span from a variety of backgrounds, from young and upcoming professionals, like Grace Cabrol and Jackson Toole, to established leaders, such as Natasha Goss and Eric Smith, to well-known United Way Representative Jordan Robins and Marquelle Middleton, and even two local dance teachers, Elizabeth Colston and Nick Hood, as well as a few more individuals. Women interested in attending the event may receive two free tickets by joining the Power of the Purse group, a women’s organization centered in Vidalia that includes members from Montgomery, Toombs, and Wheeler

Counties who contribute at least $500 per year. The group’s goals are simple: to impact the community to make it a better, stronger place to live, work, and raise a family; to recognize the key role of women in enhancing the quality of life in the tri-county area; to inspire other women to give; and to make life better for those who are hurting. If interested in joining the Power of the Purse, ladies may call 912-537– 2776. Donations may be made through payroll deduction, billed monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.
