Kincy To Savannah State

On Friday, February 4, Wheeler County High School's Jacques Kincy signed his letter of intent to play football at Savannah State University. Kincy will take his talents to the Tigers where he hopes to make an impact.

Kincy has been a standout athlete for the Bulldogs of Wheeler and has set single season and career passing records during his career. He is the all-time leader for passing yards and touchdowns in a season and for his career. Coach Thomas Smith said, “When I first got here, I saw him play in a basketball game. I saw how the other guys followed his lead, you could just tell he had that quality. He is such an even player, and he is just a leader on the field. He has great character, and if he was on the field, the team felt like they had a chance to win. Kincy stated, “I really loved the environment at Savannah State. The coaches just showed me love, and made me feel like I belonged there. I think it is the best fit for me for sure. I am also glad that it is close to home so that my family gets to see me play. I have to thank all of the coaches, my family, and the support from everyone that I have got over the years here at Wheeler County.”

Funte Kincy, his father, added, “I am very proud of him, and overwhelmed for him getting this opportunity. I will definitely be in the stands cheering him on down in Savannah. He is a very determined kid and he has worked hard to get this chance,”
